Depart USA/Cross International Date Line.
Your exotic journey to the Orient begins this evening as you check-in for your Cathay Pacific Airways flight bound for Bangkok. Your flight departs late tonight. Enjoy Cathay Pacific Airways award winning service as you cross the international date line and lose one day en route.
Day 3
Arrive Bangkok (Thailand).
Welcome to Thailand, the “Land of Smiles”. Morning arrival in Bangkok, the breathtaking capital, situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. You’ll be met and escorted to your upscale, centrally-located hotel. This evening meet your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner and briefing. Menam Riverside Hotel (D)
Day 4
Following breakfast embark on an included tour introducing you to some of Bangkok’s most outstanding Buddhist temples: Wat Trimitr with its invaluable 5-tons solid gold statue of Buddha and Wat Po, the temple featuring the colossal 150 foot long “Reclining Buddha” and the White Marble Temple representing the finest Thai architecture. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Days 5-6
Two days to discover Thailand’s vibrant and exotic capital at your own pace. Join an optional excursion to the colorful Damnoen Saduak floating market, reached by a rice barge followed by a visit to Phra Pathom Chedi, the tallest stupa in the world. You may also take a dip in your hotel’s pool or shop to your heart’s content. (B)
Day 7
Bangkok/Singapore.
Today, fly to Singapore, an island gem and dazzling blend of east and west. Your hotel is conveniently located within easy access to the historic Singapore River as well as the shopping and entertainment area. This afternoon you are free to explore on your own. York Hotel (B)
Day 8
Morning tour takes in the Elizabeth Walk waterfront, the Parliament House and Chinatown. Continue to the Botanical Gardens to see exotic orchids and rare flowers before ascending Mt. Faber for a panoramic view. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 9
Singapore/Bali.
Today fly to the tropical island paradise of Bali. Settle into your oceanfront resort hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure for independent exploration or shopping. Sanur Beach Hotel (B) 
Day 10
Today embark on a full day excursion to discover the wonders of Bali, the “Isle of Gods”. First, attend a performance of the famous Barong Dance in Batubulan, the stone carving center. Then see local craftsmanship in Celuk, famous for its gold and silver and Mas for wood carvings. Visit the Elephant Cave before arriving in Kintamani for a magnificent view of the active volcano of Mount Batur and the crater lake. After lunch (on your own) visit the Gunuang Kwai Temple and stop in Ubud to view traditional Balinese paintings. (B)
Days 11-12
Two days at leisure to enjoy your hotel’s beach and spa facilities. Shop at the local markets located nearby or join an optional tour. (B)
Day 13
Bali/Hong Kong.
Morning free. Later, fly to fascinating Hong Kong. Your attractive hotel is in the bustling heart of Kowloon, near the scenic harbor. Regal Kowloon Hotel (B)
Day 14
A morning tour of Hong Kong Island features a ride to the top of Victoria Peak for a spectacular city and harbor view. Then visit the renowned Stanley Market where bargains await, scenic Repulse Bay and the exotic Aberdeen floating fishing village. The afternoon is at leisure for shopping or independent exploration. Do not miss the great opportunity to savor the amazing array of delicacies in this culinary Mecca. (B)
Day 15
Hong Kong/USA.
Final morning is at leisure. Later, board your homebound flight. Your magical journey to the Orient ends as you arrive the USA later today. (B)

To enhance your visit to the Orient and make it more complete, you will be offered several optional tours. Rates shown are estimated prices in US Dollars and may fluctuate based on current exchange rates. Optional tours are subject to a minimum number of participants and may therefore not be offered if this minimum is not met. Payment for the optional tours is by CASH (U.S. dollars or local currency) or Credit cards. Following is a short description of some of the optional tours offered. Additional tours may be offered locally, and all tours and rates are subject to change.

Bangkok
The Klongs (Canals) Afternoon Tour (approx. $30 per person)
Depart your hotel to Thornburi, situated on the right bank of the river. The area’s many canals have given Bangkok the name “Venice of the East”. You’ll board a private motorboat and ride along the canals to get firsthand impression of the scenic life along the city’s waterways. You’ll also visit the Royal Barge Museum.
Bangkok
The Imperial “Grand Palace” Tour (approx. $40 per person)
This not to be missed afternoon guided tour takes you to the Imperial Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of ancient Siamese architecture. Former residence of the Kings, the mile-square palace grounds contain the greatest concentration of Thai arts and architecture in the country including the Temple of the “Emerald Buddha”. Return to your hotel late this afternoon.
Bangkok
Floating Market and Phra Chedi Tour (approx. $45 per person)
This most interesting excursion takes you to the rural floating market of Damneon Saduak, located south of Bangkok. Spend some time in this exotic, colorful and bustling market where you can observe floating merchants hawk their fruits, corps, baskets and weavings. Proceed to Phra Pathom Chedi, the tallest stupa in the world.

Siam Niramit Show and Dinner (approx. $60 per person, dinner included)
This “must” evening begins with a sumptuous Thai and International buffet dinner. Dinner is followed with a stunning world-class stage show depicting Thailand’s historical and spiritual heritage. The $40 million extravagant production boasts over 150 dazzling performers and state-of-the-art special effects and is a captivating journey to the enchanting Kingdom of Siam’s history and culture. This mesmerizing performance is not to be missed! Transfers from the hotel and back are included.

Dinner Cruise on Chao Phrya River (approx. $60 per person, dinner included)
Enjoy a sumptuous Asian dinner while slowly drifting along the Chao Phrya River. Whilst dinning on a luxury converted rice barge, you’ll get first hand impression of the scenic river life by night. Transfers from your hotel to the pier and back are included. 
Singapore
Night Safari (approx. $50 per person)
A thrilling evening visit to discover some 1200 animals and species in their natural jungle setting. (depart approx. 7pm and return approx. 10pm)
Bali
Tanah Lot Temple Sunset Tour (approx. $50 per person)
Travel to Tanah Lot Temple, built in the 16th century atop a huge rock outcrop in the sea and enjoy beautiful views of this amazing temple sunset. (depart approx. 3pm and return approx. 8pm)

Trip Preparation

FLIGHT INFORMATION

Your departure flight from the U.S. to the Orient and back are on Cathay Pacific Airways. You are expected to check-in for your flight at least 3½ hours before the scheduled departure. Please make sure to allow sufficient time for clearing immigration and customs if you are planning a connecting flight.  We recommend at least 3 ½ hours.  Also keep in mind that flight schedules are always subject to change.  Schedules are as follows:

ADVANCE SEAT ASSIGNMENT

Please note that smarTours is not involved in your seat assignment. It is between you and the airline! Cathay Pacific does not normally assign seats in advance. Seat assignment can only be arranged upon check-in at the airport.  Cathay Pacific does not offer any mileage credit.

PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION

You must be in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. US passport holders require a visa to enter Bali.  The visa will be granted upon arrival at the cost of US$35 in exact change. Non-U.S. citizens should check with the respective consulates as to the most current visa requirements to all their travel destinations. Please remember that it is your responsibility to obtain the necessary travel documents before the trip.  Also note that JFK’s flight makes a stop in Vancouver, Canada, on the departure and return.  Transit visas to Canada may be required for non-U.S. citizens.

TICKETS AND FINAL DOCUMENTS

Your airline tickets along with final instruction and some additional travel tips will be sent to you about 10 – 7 days before the scheduled departure of your tour.  Please make sure to advise us in case your address changes.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Immunizations are NOT currently required; however, you may wish to consult your personal physician or local public health authorities as to their suggestions.

CLIMATE

You may expect daytime high temperatures ranging from the 80’s and 90’s year round. Hong Kong temperatures in December thru March will be in the 60’s and 70’s.

NON-INCLUDED MEALS AND SIGHTSEEING

The hotels used on this tour have several dining choices from coffee shop to specialty restaurants.  Average cost for dinner (excluding drinks) in the coffee shop is about $20 – $25 per meal per person.  Optional sightseeing tours and evening activities will be offered. Your hotel will accept credit cards for your non-included meals. 

CREDIT CARDS AND LOCAL CURRENCY

Hotels and some stores accept major credit cards.  However, for “street shopping” you will need local currency or U.S. Dollars.  Your hotels will be able to exchange for you cash to local currency.   It is recommended that you bring along cash in small denominations.

BAGGAGE

Each passenger may bring one piece of checked-in luggage (suitcase maximum 44 pounds) and one carry-on piece not to exceed 18”x10”x8”. We recommend that you do not over-pack and that you take a variety of separates with climate and comfort in mind.
